Pocket Camp 101: Making the Most of Other Players in Animal Crossing

Pocket Camp 101: Making the Most of Other Players in Animal Crossing
As the first Animal Crossing game on mobile devices, it's clear that Nintendo had a more social experience in mind for Pocket Camp, and I'm not talking about all the animal friends you can make. You can add other players to your list of human friends, and they're incredibly useful for a wide array of tasks.Other than just having friends because they're nice people, building up a posse in Pocket Camp is beneficial for both you and them. First, you gain access to all their market boxes. Additionally, friends can help you bypass the leaf ticket admission cost to Shovelstrike Quarry. You even need them for giving kudos, an essential part of the game to get more friend powder (a necessary crafting tool).

Tip 1: Use Your Friends to Gain Access to Shovelstrike QuarryIf you're friends with another player, you can use them to gain access to Shovelstrike Quarry, which is located in the top-middle section of the map. Here, you mine minerals in exchange for the reward pictured above the Quarry icon on the map, which will either be bells or craft materials. The rewards reset every so often, so constantly check to see if the Quarry is paying out in whatever crafting material you may need at the time. To be allowed in, you can either spend 20 leaf tickets or ask five players for help. To ask players for their help, tap "Enter with help from friends" inside the Quarry menu. Next, choose which players to ask from your friends list. The people who have been seen minutes ago are your best bet.If you don't have many friends actively playing Pocket Camp, you'll want to search through forums and other areas online to find friend IDs so they can help you out and vice versa.Don't Miss: How to Make Human Friends in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Players have to manually agree to help you before you get your free voucher to Shovelstrike Quarry, so it might be worth it to pick more than 5 human friends to make sure you get in. They won't receive notifications for your requests, and they'll need to manually enter their friends list to see all their friends that need help getting into Shovelstrike Quarry. There is incentive for your human friends to check their friends list periodically since they'll get 100 bells if you access the Quarry or 10 bells if they tried to help but you didn't get in. Plus, they'll expect others to return the favor, so be sure to lend a helping hand when you're called up, too.To help others out, open up your friends list from tapping the hamburger icon in the top right and choosing the friend icon or by selecting "More" in the bottom right and choosing "Friends." Friends that are trying to acces the Quarry will have a shovel icon next to their name. Tap on them and select "Lend a Hand."

Tip 2: Give Kudos to Other Players for Friend PowderGiving kudos involves you visiting a player's campsite, and basically telling them that they're doing a great job. To do this, tap a player (you don't actually need to be friends with them), select "Visit his or her campsite," tap on them again inside their campsite, and select "Give kudos." You'll usually have to give kudos to players as both Timed and Stretch Goals. Giving kudos rewards you with friend powder, a crafting ingredient that you'll require to forge any new friendship with an animal, so be sure to get plenty to sustain all your new animal friendships. The more kudos you give, even if you don't like the campsites, the more animal friends you can make later. To collect your friend powder, just open up your mailbox. Tap the hamburger icon in the top right and choose the mailbox icon or by select "More" in the bottom right and choose "Mailbox." Then, tap on "Collect All" to collect all your rewards, including all that friend powder.

Tip 3: Visit Other Players for Decorating IdeasThis tip isn't as goal-oriented as the others, but that doesn't make it unimportant. After all, this is a game, right? It's all about having fun.Don't Miss: Everything You Need to Know About Crafting in Pocket Camp When you've accumulated a healthy friends list, make sure you check out their campsites to see what they have going on. You'll be going over there plenty anyway for market boxes and kudos, so why not enjoy yourself and take in some decorating inspiration? They could be doing things you've never thought of, so take note. Have any other tips for utilizing other players in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp?
